Backtrack is a travel and navigation app designed specifically for backcountry skiers and snowshoers. With offline maps, detailed route information, and real-time data, it helps users plan their next adventure in the wilderness.

With over 800 routes to choose from, Backtrack allows users to filter routes by region, difficulty, vertical ascent, and maximum slope angle, ensuring that they find a tour that suits their fitness and experience level. The app also provides GPS driving directions to the trailhead, making it easy to find the starting point of the chosen route.

One of the key features of Backtrack is the ability to review current SNOTEL data and NWAC forecast and observations. Users can also browse through crowdsourced trip reports and photos, giving them valuable insights into the conditions and experiences of others.

Backtrack offers detailed mapping features, including elevation profiles, altitude information, maximum and average slope angles, aspect, and current location along the profile. It also helps users identify avalanche terrain with topographic maps, slope angle shading, and historical avalanche fatalities.

For those who want to use the app without cellular service, Backtrack Pro offers offline map downloads. Additionally, users can easily export GPX files for use in other mapping tools such as Caltopo and Gaia.

Please note that Backtrack Pro is available as an annual subscription managed through the iTunes account. Subscriptions will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Users have the option to turn off auto-renewal at any time via the iTunes Account Settings.
